The Affordable Care Act is here. And as Sarah Dash, a research fellow at Georgetown University's Health Policy Institute tells Dance Magazine this month, freelance dancers and dancers whose companies don't offer coverage are exactly the type of people who ACA is meant for. But, as has been much publicized over the past couple of months, signing up on healthcare.gov isn't the easiest process to navigate.

Luckily, Dance/USA is gathering experts in policy, health insurance and dance to examine the ACA tomorrow from 9 am to noon at the New York Hilton Midtown in New York City. The event is free and open to the public. Dash will be there, along with professionals from the nonprofit advocate group Small Business Majority, The Actors Fund and Dance/USA. Hear about how the ACA will affect the dance field and learn about details such as enrollment timelines. There will also be separate sessions held for small troupes and independent artists, plus a period for questions and answers. For those ready to sign up, the organization will be hosting Dance Enrollment Days next week for New York–based artists to consult with an expert and enroll in the exchange.

Can't make it to New York? Videos of the sessions will be posted on the Dance/USA website soon.
