Get Your Hamilton Fix Tonight On PBS

October 20, 2016

You may have heard of a little musical called Hamilton. The show, which tells the story of one of our nation’s founding fathers through hip hop, has captured the public’s attention in a way we haven’t seen a musical do in recent times, and Andy Blankenbuehler‘s choreography is nothing short of revolutionary. But the tickets are notoriously hard to come by. If you haven’t been able to snag one yet—or if you have, but you’re still not “Satisfied”—there’s hope. Hamilton’s America, a new documentary chronicling the making of Hamilton, airs tonight on PBS.

Though they won’t be giving away the whole show—you’ll have to “Wait for It”—rumor has it you’ll have the chance to catch some never-before-seen performance footage. Plus, the documentary includes insight from writer Lin-Manuel Miranda, as well as an A-list of artists and politicians like Elizabeth Warren, Nas, George W. Bush, Stephen Sondheim, Jimmy Fallon and President Obama. It looks like we’ll get face time with the original cast (which will hopefully include the triple-threat ensemble members who appeared on our June cover!).

#squadgoals: The original ensemble of Hamilton. PC Jayme Thornton.

Hamilton’s America
is presented as part of PBS’s Great Performances series (which is conveniently hosted by Miranda). Tune in or live stream tonight at 9 pm EST, or catch it online after the fact—the documentary will be available for a limited time after airing. Here’s hoping for lots of dance footage!
