PNB To Live-Stream Carla Körbes' Final Bow

May 31, 2015

Balletomanes are having a tough summer. Paloma Herrera and Xiomara Reyes retired from American Ballet Theatre last week; Julie Kent will soon follow. Sylvie Guillem is on her farewell tour (though she excitingly just announced that she will visit the U.S. in November). And this Sunday, the beloved Pacific Northwest Ballet principal Carla Körbes will also step down.

But fans who can’t make it to Seattle are in luck. PNB will live-stream her closing performance on Sunday, June 7 at 6:30 pm PT. Körbes will dance in Jessica Lang’s The Calling, plus George Balanchine’s “Diamonds” (excerpt) and Serenade. Also on the bill: Nacho Duato’s Rassemblement, William Forsythe’s The Vertiginous Thrill of Exactitude, Andrew Bartee’s Dirty Goods and an excerpt from Balanchine’s “Emeralds” and “Rubies.”
